Fantasy Baseball Website Reviews

Our reviews single out the five best websites for each given service, assuming that the service can be accessed for free (or with a free registration) on the given website. Each website is ranked according to aspects that are particular to that service, as follows:

Player Projections The only way to correctly rank the quality of different sets of projections is to see which comes the closest to the actual data at the end of a season. Of course, at that point, the question of the quality of the projections is completely moot. Our approach to ranking sites for projections is threefold. First, we look at how many different kinds of statistic are given in the projection (the more, the better). Second, we look at the frequency of projection updates (the more, the better). Lastly, we look at some sort of measure of "usability". Namely, is the site fast? How obnoxious are the ads? How much confidence does this website give me in the quality of these projections?

Of course, for real projection evaluations, our Player Projection Competitions are the ideal way to compare free and paid player projection services.
Fantasy Baseball News Our rankings of news sites are based on the frequency of updates and the number of updates, as well as the quality of analysis provided along with the news. While many websites offer some kind of fantasy sports news, the quality of your news service makes a big difference in your in-season management.
Fantasy Baseball Articles and Blogs Our rankings of fantasy sports articles and blogs are fairly subjective. Most articles and blogs won't help that much in improving your team necessarily, but reading expertly written, entertaining pieces about fantasy sports can be a recreation in itself. Sites that have a large number of articles do better in our ranking, but much of the ranking is based purely subjective criteria.
Fantasy Baseball Forums A good forum is ideally much better than a good website. If you have a good community of fantasy sports devotees, you have much more than you get from a stale page with a few columnists. You can get up-to-date news, specific advice, entertaining rants, and an opportunity to participate in a way that a non-forum website doesn't really allow. We rank forum websites by size and number of different topics available, activity of the forum (number of posts in a day), and a subjective judgment about the quality of the postings.
Fantasy Baseball Leagues We base our fantasy baseball league website rankings on just a few factors - number of participants in leagues on the website, website speed and ease of use, and user interface and ease of use.
