Our reviews single out the five best websites for each given service, assuming that the service can be accessed for free (or with a free
registration) on the given website. Each website is ranked according to aspects that are particular to that service, as follows:

It's difficult to make arguments for playing in leagues on sites other than
Yahoo. Yahoo is free, has an enormous user base, and it has a very good user interface and highly usable site. By our metrics, there is no comparison. |
| CBS Sportsline |

CBS Sportsline is the only other site which really compares to Yahoo's when
it comes to free leagues. It has a very strong user base and good features. We don't like the website as much as Yahoo's, but this is still
a very reasonable choice as a location for your league. |
| ESPN |

We're breaking our own rules to include ESPN in this list, because ESPN does not
in fact offer a free fantasy baseball game. As it is the third website which has a really significant user base however, we felt that it was necessary
to include it. Although you pay for an ESPN league, it is no better than one at CBS Sportsline, and is worse than one on Yahoo. |
| ProTrade |

Again, we're sort of cheating by including ProTrade, because they don't offer
a traditional fantasy sports league. Instead, they offer a salary-cap game, which is free and best-of-breed. If you're interested in salary-cap
leagues, ProTrade is pretty slick. |

This is a sort of directory of free fantasy sports games online. If you are
insistent on playing in a league hosted by a smaller site, with a smaller user base and fewer features, this is the best place to find what you're looking for. |
